From the refuge, you can organise trips to many beautiful places, for instance : the surprisingly unique Chiloe Island with its wooden churches declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO, the must-see Torres del Paine Park, the Lake Region in Argentina or even the mythical Carretera Austral

Horse riding

Whatever your level of experience, there is a horse for you.
We lead you into the wild, to discover the secrets of Calbuco volcano, the breathtaking vistas on Lake Llanquihue, and the power of Osorno volcano...
You can also explore the depths of the native forests, riding along unique trails that are best enjoyed on horseback.
By the hour or half days.


You can choose between the river 500 metres away from the refuge, the black sand beaches of Llanquihue and Todos los Santos lakes, the Pacific wild coasts or the Reloquavi fjord.



Get the chance to experience Chilean nature in the crystal waters of rio Blanco, near the Calbuco volcano. Full day or half day, you can swim, jump and rappel.
It's easy to do, and fun. You only need a pair of waterproof shoes and courage. We can provide wetsuites. Half day and full day trips available.


Cochamò Valley

In Valle Cochamó the Patagonian Andes mountain range rises steeply up from both sides of the turqoise Cochamó River. In an open meadow, colorful tents, a refugio (La Junta) and an old barn shelter nature lovers that gather to explore the valley's wonders.
With no roads and only trails penetrating the valley, Valle Cochamó has become a nature-lovers' haven with no park fees or regulations. The valley is filled with outdoor activities - trekking, climbing, horseriding, caving, sliding down waterfalls, swimming, hiking, tubing or just sunbathing on the beach.



On the Petrohué river in the area of Lago Todos Los Santos, one of the most visited place aroud here.
Depending on the season this river offers class 3 to 4+ rapids.
Half day, full day, or several-day trips, if you feel adventurous.



Choose either a calm meander on Llanquihue Lake or a exciting white water experience on Petrohué River.
This is for everybody, on any kind of water. We offer you top quality equipment adapted to your skills. Half-day, full day, or several day trips to discover the Lakes Region through the “water paths”.



Ensenada is full of paths, you can trek a few hours or a few days, around the volcanoes, in National Parks, with or without a guide.
A nice and different experience is to go for a walk on the Pacific coast, at Maullin for example, a magnificiant ocean and a peaceful day for sure !


Mountain bike

Either by yourself or with a guide, mountainbiking allows you to enjoy the playground of the volcanoes area. Riding your bike between the rivers and the volcanoes, or visiting those nice city spots around Lake Llanquihue... make up your own program.



The surroundings of Ensenada are characterised by numerous lakes, rivers and fishing spots.
The legend of fishing in Patagonia truly comes alive here! Guided by locals, you’ll discover these enchanting creeks and the fabulous scenery.


Canopy (tree climbing)

Swinging from one tree to another is a pleasant way to enjoy life, isn’t it? Come and discover native trees in a different and unusual way. Accessible to everybody and very safe, this activity is a whole lot of fun.


Lake crossing

This adventure will take you from Puerto Varas to Bariloche, Argentina. You’ll cross the border via the majestic Patagonian Lakes.
Enjoy the natural beauty from a unique perspective and revel in the surrounding calm.
It’s a full day trip, one way. You arrive in Bariloche at the end of the afternoon.
